Altaris Defense offers two named barrel lines within the Altaris Barrel Program, both currently in R&D with first production runs targeted for 2026.

Contract Elite™ — Altaris Defense AR-Platform Barrel Line

Contract Elite™ is Altaris Defense's AR-platform barrel line, developed for law enforcement, military, and professional AR-15/M4-pattern applications. Built on Carpenter Technology A-21® martensitic stainless carburizing steel with QPQ nitrocarburizing surface treatment, the Contract Elite™ line is designed to deliver match-grade accuracy in a duty-cycle package with individual inspection protocols and full material traceability for government procurement.

Precision Elite™ — Altaris Defense Bolt-Action Barrel Line

Precision Elite™ is Altaris Defense's bolt-action barrel line, developed for long-range competition, precision rifle applications, and professional bolt-action platforms. The Precision Elite™ line applies the same A-21® steel and inspection architecture to bolt-action configurations including PRS and ELR competition platforms. These names are line identifiers within the Altaris Barrel Program, not descriptions of accuracy grade.

A-21® Engineering Foundation

A-21® is a martensitic stainless carburizing steel from Carpenter Technology engineered for nitriding and carburizing service while maintaining stainless corrosion resistance throughout the heat treatment process. Combined with QPQ nitrocarburizing, the result is extreme surface hardness, minimal bore dimensional change, and outstanding corrosion resistance in a unified metallurgical system.
